안녕하세요!!! 오늘은 쉬는날!!! 

학생들 시험도 끝나고 음...... 오늘 토요일 부터 월요일 대체공휴일까지 음..... 쉬는 날입니다. 하하하하 

하지만 저는 이렇게 새로 생긴 별다방에 앉아서 수업을 위한 자료 작업을 하고 있습니다. 

그러던 중!!!!!!!!!!!

위와 같은 문장을 발견 했습니다. 영어 독서를 많이 하기는 했지만 헉 첨 본 구문이라서......... 그렇다고 여기서 포기할 수 없죠. 

그래서 일단 의미를 파악해보고 의미가 어느정도 들어왔다면 이제 왜 저런 형태로 쓴걸까에 대한 고민을 하기 시작합니다. 

일단 해석은 

'무언가에 대해 더 많은 관점에서 생각해보면 더욱 잘 이해할 수 있다.

그것에 자신이든, 다른 사람과의 관계든 어떤 상황이든지 간에' 

(이건 제가 한 해석이고요) 

해설지 해석은 이렇습니다. 

'그리고 여러분이 더 많은 관점을 감안할수록 여러분은 그것이 여러분 자신이건, 다른 사람과의 관계이건

세상의 상황이건 간에 뭔가를 더 잘 이해할 수 있다.'

Whether it be는 조금 올드한 표현이긴 하지만 많이 쓰이는 표현이더군요. 

아래 설명을 한 번 보시죠!! 

In common usage, 'whether it is' is also acceptable.

It is, however, not considered as formal. 

In truth, you can use the subjunctive or present form after whether and both will be understood. 

보시면 whether it is를 좀 더 일반적이라고 나오고 있습니다. 하지만 형식을 갖춰 쓰려면 whether it be를 써야하지만 심지어 뉴스에서도 whether it is라는 표현을 좀 더 많이 쓰네요.

가정법에서 'if'를 생략하면 도치가 일어나죠? 그와 마찬가지로 이해해주시면 편합니다.
